Adaptation of Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management 7.5 (BRM) for Mexican Cable TV operator.

Project with 6 months duration and the participation of 4 engineers specialists in Oracle BRM.

Requirements gathering, designing and building a configurable credit assessment engine of customers who want to acquire a mobile phone plan.

Technologies: JAVA-JEE with Framework JSF 2.0, Oracle Weblogic, Oracle Database, LDAP Integration, ORACLE OSB.

Main activities

Simplified application to perform preliminary credit assessment of customers who want to acquire a mobile phone plan. Multi-device application.

 

Duration and resources

Execution of the project in 8 months, with a team of 1 Project Manager, 3 Development Engineers and 1 QA Analyst.

Reengineering and implementation of the Customer Care Portal to massive consumer segment, for the largest mobile operator in Chile. This platform impacted 6 million users.

Technologies: JAVA JEE (MVC pattern), Oracle BEA WebLogic 10g, BEA WebLogic Portal, Integration of services through IBM MQ Series and Oracle OSB (SOA Suite).

Main activities

The platform upgrade in addition to requiring performance improvements over

previous version and incorporating a series of new functionality, was designed to

provide the operator with improvements in modularity, scalability and security. Some of the new functionality included Claims Tracking and Integration with payment methods (WebPay, CMR, Servipag and Banco Santander).

 

Duration 

The entire project lasted 24 months.

Dynamic comparison exercise of real rates versus theoretical rates defined by the business and required to be conducted periodically by the income control area of ​​the mobile operator.

Technologies: Engine built in Java, administration interfaces in PHP and MySQL Database.

Main activities

This system analyzes whether the operator's theoretical tariffs have any difference with the actual tariffs calculated by the network’s Virtual OVPN (ORGA Virtual Private Network) rate system. The output of the process is information required to generate reports and graphs of the dispersions which allow detail analysis of detected anomalies. The system reads and analysis of the ICR files (record of valued use of OPSC), loading the anomalies data base with the discovered anomalies. The system was designed and implemented to process large volumes of information over short periods of time, with performance in the order of 1 million records analyzed per hour.

 

Duration and resources

Project was completed in 12 months, using Waterfall methodology, and a project team of 1 Project Manager, 2 Development Engineers and 1 QA Analyst.

 

Integration of Video on Demand platform with Operator's Billing system.

Technologies: IBM DataStage. Massive Shell and Pro*C processes. Oracle Package. WebLogic and Oracle OSB and Oracle Database. JAVA Web Application (JSP) using LDAP integration for authentication and SOA Web Service.

Main activities

System that allows managing rental of movies and events for TV subscribers of Claro's satellite service, through the administration of the service status (decoders) and the quota of cash for rental assigned to each client. Based on integration with the Seachange content provision platform for the control of rental quota in Line, the authorization to the platform for requested rentals and capture of completed rental events. The VOD system is also integrated with the Client’s billing system, delivering detail of the billable events according to the evaluation of parametric business rules.

Project with 8 months duration and the participation of 1 Project Manager, 2 Engineers of Development and 2 Analysts QA.

Development of functionalities and interfaces to manage the mobile operator’s Benefits Club award points program.

Technologies: JAVA, WebService JAVA for the integration of systems published in ORACLE OSB and JAVA processes.

Main activities

Set of functionalities and interfaces to manage the Mobile Operator's Club award points program. The scope of this project included added functionality to the Customers Service systems, the reload platform was integrated with the award points system to enable use of points for purchases of bundles of products and a WEB-based Accumulation system maintenance enabling system configuration and operation via parameters.

During the second phase of the project, the construction of the accumulation support system, exchange, expiration and points display for the customer, thus providing a complete loyalty program system for the operator.

 

Duration and resources

The first phase of the project required 6 months with the participation of 1 Project Manager, 2 Development Engineers and 1 QA Analyst, and the second phase was completed in 9 months with an equivalent project team.

Reload service system for mobile voice and data services for pre-paid market segment of customers (over 5 million customers).

Technologies: JAVA processes, consumption of IBM MQ Series services. Integration with external systems through WebService. WEB administration with PHP, and MySQL Cluster Database.

Main activities

System built to process cash reload for prepaid mobile service, controlled account and mobile broadband plans, enabling transactions from systems such as POS, IVR, and WEB. The system was implemented based on a layer schema to enable support of high levels of transactions. These layers are mainly Validation and Reload, distributed through various modules. The Validation layer included commercial and general validations. Within the commercial validations included, black lists, gray lists, and business validations (for example, reloads made with POS registers in pharmacies, commercial stores, etc.).

General validations included mobile validation, validation of amount of cash to be reloaded, etc. For the reload layer, the modules included: reload, reconciliation, alerts, reversals, etc. The system included a WEB-based administration interface enabling configuration of validations required for each customer profile (or shops), start or stop service, and configuration of a series of system parameters (bonuses associated with recharges, etc.), among others. The second phase of the project included integration with major retail companies in Chile, as well as new business rules: retry handling, reload balancing, promotion management, integration with IVR, points reload exchange, etc.

 

Duration and resources

The duration of the project was 24 months, with a full staff of 1 Project Manager, 4 Development Engineers and 1 QA Analyst.

Unification of customer portfolios from paid and free of charge services and subsequent implementation of commercial activities.

Technologies: Developments in C language, JAVA, Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0, integrated with ORACLE BRM 6.5.

Main activities

Integration and unification of the different customer registration databases and payment services (subscription and pay for use) as well as free service of the main ISP and Portal manager in Chile, to obtain an overall view of the client portfolio, its services and products, thus facilitating the management and offering of paid products. Development was carried out in a layered model with integration components to encapsulate business logic, integrated directly with Oracle BRM 6.5 for the management of customers, products, services and charges.

Duration of the project was 6 months, with 1 Project Manager and 3 Development Engineers.

WEB system for on-line offer, sale and activation of automobile insurance to final customers.

Technologies: JAVA / JEE with JSF Framework, Oracle Database, PL / SQL and integration with external systems via WbService SOAP.

Main activities
Development of a forms based system that presents a series of questions and enables the customer to enter data about the automobile to insure, and based on information provided, check with a number of insurance companies for their products. Then the system deploys available alternatives in an interface that allows the customer to compare and choose, and after this, to continue with the purchase and activation process.
The site implements quote features, insurance contracting, payment and insurance policy generation.
 
Duration and resources
The project was developed over a period of 8 months and included a team of a Project Manager, 2 Development Engineers, a Graphic Designer and 2 QA Analysts.
Generation of supplementary insurance settlements.

Technologies: JAVA / J2EE with ADF Framework, ORACLE Database and PL / SQL Stored Procedures.

Main activities
A .PDF based insurance settlement system was implemented, with insured party information and reimbursement amounts, enabling automation of the dispatch of the dispatch of this information via email of the insured party.
 
The system also includes a module that analyzes the dispatch of sent mails which generates a management log with a summary of all emails read by the client as well as the rebounds generated by problems in the dispatch process for eventual re-dispatch.

System designed to enable the integration of an insurance company’s suite of products and services with external third party affiliate companies, to offer and sell those products and services to their own portfolio of clients.

Technologies: JAVA / JEE with ADF Framework, JMS Queues, ORACLE Database, Stored Procedures in PL / SQL and WebService SOAP.

Main activities
In addition to providing capability to offer and sell insurance products, this system was designed to enable external affiliate companies to report changes and updates of the product portfolios associated with their customer base, asynchronously (daily), which are validated in format and content, before applying the changes to the internal systems of the main insurance company and to register and report all activation and cancellation activity for all products.
 
The system additionally includes the generation of information to be dispatched to external affiliate companies, for later audit and management, in addition to managing the definition of data structures and independent validation rules by each external participating affiliate company.
 
This system was also designed to include automation of the collection process for all those policies generated by the affiliate company.
 
Duration and resources
The project was developed in 16 months, with three release phases and included a team of one Project Manager, 3 Development Engineers a Software Architect and 2 QA Analysts.

Oracle platform based solution for the automated Government Development Agency's beneficiaries business processes. Additionally, this project included and updating of the formalization process.

Technologies: Oracle WebCenter Site/Portal, Oracle BPM 12c, Oracle SOA Suite 12c, SQL Server Data Base. Forms in Microsoft .NET with C#, SharePoint and JAVA/JEE.

Main activities

Implementation of the automated processes that enable proper and efficient routing and distribution of the application based on existing conditions and background information provided, complete the nominations and the adjudication process and subsequent monitoring of the project execution and its subsequent closure. This project also included additional needed functionality for the formalization process and migration of the following BPM flows to Oracle BPM 12c Business: agreement creation, agreement modification, agreement acceptance, resolution creation, resolution modification,  affected resolutions, budget validation, resolution acceptance, formalization and closure.

 

Duration and resources

The project lasted 12 months, with the participation of 1 Project Manager, 5 Development Engineers, 1 QA Supervisor and 1 Tester.

Electronic processing system, which allows creation of various online procedures that a citizen may need, through interconnection with other institutions such as Internal Revenue Service (SII) and Customs, as well as the implementation of electronic payment.

Unified platform enabling on-line formal submission of declarations, allowing the communication with Treasury for electronic payments, the Internal Tax Service (ie IRS) for the validation of legal representation and customs for the entry of products. In addition, the system makes use of the advanced digital signature, according to the Chilean legislation, together with interoperation with different entities of the State, as well Municipalities via Webservice.

 

Design and implementation of the Information Transfer of Support to Regulatory System, through a unified platform for requesting, receiving and validating massive information in support of the various audit processes.

Technologies: JAVA-JSP Servlet and Oracle Database 10g

Main activities

Technological information support system for the regulation, which allows online collection of information related to entities supervised by the regulatory agency, which carrying out the necessary validations to enable upload into the existing analysis system.

Currently the system is installed in the of electric and fuels regulatory agency and the undersecretariat of telecommunications.
